Join expert biologist Susan Campbell as she captures, bands and releases hummingbirds for research.
During the class Susan will be sharing about how to attract these tiny ornithological jewels, how to keep them coming back and so much more. A few participants may even get to hold and help release a hummingbird!
This event is open to all ages (attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult) and the class will be outdoors.
To attend this ticketed event participants must register for the workshop by 'purchasing' a ticket to claim their spot. While the workshop has no additional cost to attend, General Admission fees are required to access the garden for the workshop. Participants are invited and welcome to explore the gardens with their admission.
We advise arriving a bit before your workshop start time to allow time to get checked in and get to the workshop location in the gardens.
*We always aim to capture at least one hummingbird each class time, however we can't guarantee there will be a hummingbird banded in every class throughout the day.
Hummingbirds are wild animals and have a mind of their own, our specialists do their best to attract and capture them each time.
This is a free ticketed workshop with a General Admission fee required to access the gardens for the workshop.
Garden Members receive free admission to the garden with membership and are required to purchase a ticket to attend the workshop.
Non-members are required to pay General Admission at the front desk and may pre-purchase their workshop tickets ahead of time here.
