Butterfly Shadowbox Workshop

Create a one-of-a-kind piece of natural art in this special butterfly shadowbox workshop. Participants will design a decorative shadowbox using an assortment of dried flowers, decorative papers, miniature embellishments, and other curated materials before adding two preserved butterflies from our own Butterfly Bungalow exhibit.

You're also welcome to bring your own decorative items if there's something meaningful or specific you'd like to incorporate into your design. Small pressed flowers, charms, papers, or other lightweight embellishments are welcome.

Workshop Details

• Dates: September 5 + September 6
• Time: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
• Location: Wren Room in Garden Pavilion
• Cost: $70 + General Garden Admission

• Registration Deadline: Online ticket sales will close at 9:00 AM on  September 4. Any remaining workshop spots will be available for purchase on-site throughout the weekend while supplies last. On-site registration is first come, first served and cannot be guaranteed.

This workshop is designed primarily for adults and older teens who enjoy detailed craft work. It is not suitable for young children.

All materials are provided, including the shadowbox, decorative supplies, and two preserved butterflies. No previous crafting experience is necessary—just bring your creativity!
